This [report for the 2018–19 monitoring period](https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/land/management/mapping/statewide-monitoring/slats/slats-reports/2018-19-report) is the first change report for a series of SLATS reporting which monitors and accounts for woody vegetation extent and change in Queensland, annually. The monitoring period is nominally from August 2018 to August 2019. The methodology monitors and reports change in woody vegetation extent against a 2018 woody vegetation extent baseline. Included in the data are information about the clearing activity type and estimates of woody vegetation density and age, to better describe what woody vegetation currently exists, and where and how it is being cleared. Regrowth reporting is not included in the 2018-19 data, as regrowth generally occurs on time scales greater than one year and existing regrowth in 2018–19 period has been mapped and characterised in the 2018 woody vegetation extent baseline. &rft.creator=Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation&rft.date=2023&rft_rights=Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/&rft_subject=SLATS&rft_subject=Sentinel-2&rft_subject=satellite technology&rft_subject=vegetation change&rft_subject=woody vegetation&rft.type=dataset&rft.language=English Access the data

Brief description

The [Statewide Landcover and Trees Study (SLATS)](https://www.qld.gov.au/environment/land/management/mapping/statewide-monitoring/slats/) monitors woody vegetation extent, clearing and regrowth using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery.
