Full description
The aim of this study is to explore the direct and indirect effects of multiple stressors in outdoor experimental ponds. Specifically, we examined the long-term, individual, and combined effects of Cu-contaminated sediment (low and high concentrations) and common carp (C. carpio) on the structure and function of a lentic freshwater ecosystem. Changes to benthic communities were characterised using environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding targeting prokaryotes (16S rDNA) and eukaryotes (18S rDNA).
