These comprise cards and accompanying documents which record the historical background, construction and maintenance of harbour works at Newcastle and Port Kembla. The information recorded includes: background material from annual reports; related correspondence numbers; copies of relevant acts or proclamations; plans; dimensions of constructions and works carried out; related equipment and costs. An article entitled 'Dock and Harbour Authority' c.1819 is included with the papers relating to Newcastle Harbour.
