Vsevolod Pudovkin was Russian filmmaker, actor and theorist who worked during the Soviet era. Lev Kuleshov was his mentor and Sergei Eisenstein was his peer, with whom he debated filmmaking techniques, especially film-editing. Pudovkin's films include Mother (1926), The End of St. Petersburg (1927) and Storm Over Asia (1928).
