Brief description

The Victorian Integrated Survey of Travel and Activity (VISTA) is an ongoing survey of household travel activity.\r\n\r\nAs part of VISTA, all members of surveyed households are asked to complete a\r\ntravel diary for a single specified day. By collecting information on all\r\npersonal travel made - from walking the dog, through to a flight interstate -\r\nthe results of VISTA enhance our understanding of the complex travel\r\ninteractions occurring across our communities. This detailed picture of travel\r\ninforms the transport and land-use planning decisions being made by\r\ngovernment. \r\n \r\nSince 2012, 32,000 households and 82,000 people have contributed to the ongoing survey. Data collection is spread evenly across each year, allowing average\r\ndaily travel behaviours to be described. See the [VISTA website]("https://dtp.vic.gov.au/about/data-and-research/vista") for more details about this survey. \r\n\r\nDetailed findings are available via an [interactive data visualisation tool](https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/vista#!/) that allows users to explore the data further.\r\n\r\n
