This series comprises files, papers, environment impact statements and submissions by the State Electricity Commission (SEC) and other organisations and individuals to the Emergency Gas Turbine Inquiry that was conducted by the Parliamentary Public Works Committee from 1977 to 1978. The purpose of the Inquiry was to investigate a proposal by the SEC to install, as an emergency measure, a second Mega-Watt block of Gas Turbines in the Victorian generating system.

The Inquiry was to be conducted according to the following terms of reference: to investigate the need for, and timing and location of the proposed additional plant.

This series also contains copies of the proceedings of the Inquiry
