Full description
Data captures the O&M learning experiences of three North and Far North Queensland primary school students as part of qualitative research investigating the school effect and impact on outcomes for students with disability. Audio-recorded data was gathered from semi-structured interviews, online panel discussions, and 13 orientation and mobility lessons over one school semester. Autoethnographic reflexive teaching journals were used to support the thematic and discourse analysis. Data includes raw data and transcription of interviews and lessons, as well as raw data analysis. Findings of the research indicated a prevalent lack of awareness of the impact of visual impairment on learning and development, and of the role of orientation and mobility. Findings also specified systemic and cultural barriers to full equitable inclusive education for students with visual impairment.
