These registers contain a summary record of all Permissions granted to Enclose Roads and Watercourses in the Land District of Albury, kept by the Albury Lands Office.
Upon application being made by a holder of land, permission to enclose wholly or in part any road or watercourse by which the land is traversed or bounded may be granted by the Local Land Board upon such terms and conditions including payment of rent, as it may determine. Once the Local Land Board has granted such permission the payments of rent are recorded in these registers by the Crown Land Agent.
These registers record information such as the permission number and date of granting; the holding number and class; the name and address of the Holder of the land and each transferee; a description of the land, to be limited to the county and parish and brief description of the road or watercourse to be enclosed; area of the road or watercourse; payments made, date of payment, period paid for; and any further remarks.
