Full description

The interviews about rainforest artefacts were collected to show what curatorial information is considered to be relevant for an Jirrbal collector of rainforest artefacts. In approximately 30 interviews, Grant describes his collection of artefacts including those sold to MTQ Townsville, and how they relate to his Jirrbal heritage. A transcript of A Muriata who narrates a day in the life of a pre-contact clan and their artefacts is also included.

Notes

This dataset consists of the artefact questionnaire (open access), derived data (2 tables) pertaining to the provenance and personal and cultural significance of the artefacts and an audio index for the interviews. The derived data and audio index are available via conditional access only. Audio recordings, transcripts and field notes are securely stored, however access is not permitted due to the sensitive nature of this data.
