Brief description
The project will create a 900 hectares predator free ecosystem in the Victorian Volcanic Plains to support the re-establishment of an Eastern Barred Bandicoot population. The project builds on the successful model at the Mount Rothwell Biodiversity Interpretation Centre (which co-owns the ‘Tiverton’ property) and has established a population of 1150 Eastern Barred Bandicoot individuals. The installation of a predator proof fence will be supported by habitat enhancement works such as weed & biomass management, seed collection & propagation and the property includes a number of Seasonal Herbaceous Wetlands of the Temperate Lowland Plains and extensive Natural Temperate Grassland of the Victorian Volcanic Plains, the condition and function of which will be substantially improved.User Contributed Tags
