Full description
This is a dataset collected between 2006 and 2011, largely from NCIP genealogies, but also parish records. It includes 1704 individuals. PK-11-GEN01.ged: A gedcom file containing multiple records of individuals living in Eskaya villages today, and their ancestors. Information is based primarily on genealogy form submitted to the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples in Tagbilaran, but also from parish records and personal interviews. PK2-11-GEN02.pdf and PK2-11-GEN-03.pdf contain 497 images of parish burial records from the Biabas church, photographed in 2008. Page 3 of PK2-11-GEN-03.pdf shows the record of Mariano Datahan's burial. PK2-11-GEN04: Photographed records from the Loon church Nuestra Señora de la Luz. They are not complete. Pages photographed are those which include names of large Eskaya family clans such as Sumatra and Castañares. The original records may have been destroyed in the Bohol earthquake of 15 October 2013. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCHERS: This dataset was uploaded to familysearch.org on 5 June 2017 by Piers Kelly. It is now part of the Pedigree Resource File in this archive. If you wish to find out about your ancestors, your best option is to access the information online (rather than via the .txt file in PARADISEC) since you will be able to improve it with a community of other family-history researchers. The PARADISEC file is static. In other words, nothing will be added or removed or revised. The familysearch.org archive will not make public any records of people who are still living. For this reason, only 54 of the 1704 records are now public on the site. Thus, for deceased ancestors it is best to refer to familysearch.org, and for living relatives, use the .txt file deposited here. . Language as given: Spanish Reuse Information
