Brief description Rupture of cerebral aneurysms is a serious brain condition with poor prognosis. Though endovascular treatments such as flow diverters are available for treatment, they, for unknown reasons, occasionally fail to solve the problem - leading to significant mortalities. This project aims to analyse, with patient-specific brain-imaging information and computational models of aneurysms, the safety and efficacy of flow diverter deployment, validating the simulation tools against in-vitro experimental data. Greater understanding of flow diverter performance under different aneurysm and parent artery geometries could potentially better direct its application and aid in the development of a next-generation flow diverter that is safe and efficient.
