Brief description
\n## **Abstract** \nThe dataset was compiled by the Geological and Bioregional Assessment Program from source data referenced within the dataset and/or metadata. Drillhole data was used to estimate the depth and thickness of the Carpentaria Basin where it overlies the Beetaloo GBA region. They were also used determine the occurrence of sand rich layers in the Carpentaria Basin. Models derived from drilhole data represent thickness and extent of Carpentaria basin sequence and overlying Cenozoic (when present). See Factsheet 6 for a comparison between AEM and drillhole data derived geological models for the Carpentaria and its implications for recharge potential. Fact sheets are available from https://www.bioregionalassessments.gov.au/gba.\n\n\n## **Attribution** \nGeological and Bioregional Assessment Program\n\n\n## **History** \nThe geological surface models were created by inteporlating point depth estimates from drillhole data using ArcGIS. Models derived from drillhole data represent the whole thickness of the Carpentaria basin sequence and overlying Cenozoic (when present). See fact sheet 5Full description
