Brief description

This National Electricity Transmission Substations dataset presents the spatial locations, in point format, of all known electricity transmission substations within Australia.

Statement: The electricity transmission substations were digitized in 2011 from the library of imagery held within Geoscience Australia. Imagery used ranged from 0.15m resolution aerial photos to 2.5m resolution satellite images.
The database was revised in January 2014 to reflect the most current version of the AEMO Transmission Network Diagrams dated 14 February 2013. More recent imagery was accessed from online sources to supplement the revision program.
The latest version of this database was subsequently released on the GA Website in April 2015.
