This publication, by A.L. Barnett, was issued to coincide with the anniversary of the passage of legislation which formalised Courts of Petty Sessions in the Colony of New South Wales. The first of such Courts, established under Act 3 William IV No.4 of 24 August 1832, was proclaimed on 3 October 1832.The former Deputy Under-Secretary of Justice compiled this volume, which is arranged alphabetically by location. Entries record date of Gazette containing proclamation; date from which Court established; if abolished, date of proclamation; and date from which Court was abolished. Changes of place names are also noted.
