Full description Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours are symptoms of many disorders. Obsessions are thought to occur when inferred outcomes do not match reality. We will determine how decisions are made when based on inference versus experience to better understand obsessions. We will also determine if the same brain circuits underlie the processes behind obsessions and compulsions. This project will develop new knowledge about brain functions, allowing us to better understand and treat these symptoms.
