Full description

This volume records details of repairs undertaken on carriages at Eveleigh Carriage Workshops. The following details are included:

- type of carriage
- number and code of carriage, and any alteration
- builder of carriage
- date of first run
- date on which electric lighting was introduced
- date of entry for repair;
- date of completion of repair;
- type of repair, ie. light, medium, heavy, details of repair work undertaken
- officers responsible for repair work undertaken

Entries are arranged numerically by carriage number (1714 to 2262).

Custody History
From 1955 until 2000 the State Rail Authority of New South Wales maintained an in house archive consisting of the archival records of the Authority, its predecessor agencies and the private railway companies taken over by the government. The date ranges of the records were from 1849 until 2000.
