VPRS 18641 Burial Register

Full description

This series comprises of registers of burials at Numurkah Cemetery (VA 5235).

The first volume (known as the Old Book) records burials of all denominations between 1883 - 1899. The register includes the following information:
- date of burial
- age of deceased
- name of deceased
- size of the plot
- number of the plot
- the compartment (denomination) of the plot

This volume also has some information on folio 253 about salaries of cemetery employees and banking transactions on folio 261. It is unknown why this information was recorded in this volume.

The other six volumes in this series each deal with burials relating to a particular religious denomination (Bible Christian, Church of England, Other Denominations, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Wesleyan), and cover the period 1899-2017.

- a sequential number
- date of burial
- name of deceased
- grave number
- size of grave
- general register number
- indicate whether the burial was the first for the grave or whether it is full.
