Mapping was digitised in Intergraph Microstation and ArcInfo from compilation sheets compiled onto 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 scale topographic film bases. Preliminary data was released in hardcopy and ArcInfo format in October 1994. Since then, considerable further editing has been performed in ArcInfo (under UNIX SunOS and Solaris) to create the current version. Conversion to MapInfo format uses Arclink software.
