VPRS 16918 Admission and Discharge Register of the Royal Children's Hospital Orthopaedic Section, Frankston

Full description

This series comprises of admission and discharge registers of the Royal Children's Hospital Orthopaedic Section at Frankston. Information recorded includes patient serial and record numbers, date of admission, patient's name and date of birth, exact age, religion, ward to which admitted, date of discharge, address, primary disease, number in disease index, and remarks. Information is duplicated in the first two registers. The first register was only used to record the admission of the patient, whereas the other registers also recorded the patient record number, discharge date and the diagnosis. The second volume is a typewritten copy of the admission and discharge register. The series ends on 31/1/1971 when the orthopaedic section closed. The last patients were transferred to the Royal Children's Hospital in Carlton by 27/1/1971.

Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 1996/002.
