This series was created by the Claims Branch of the Victorian Railways [VA 2876] to register claims for compensation arising out of rail operations. Different books were created including:- Personal Accident Register, General (1919 to 1983)
- Fire Damage Claim Register (1922 to 1978)
- Level Crossings Accident Register (1952 to 1983)
- Motor Accidents Register (involving motor cars) (1946 to 1983)
- Freight Wagon Accident (1977 to 1980)
The P1 consignment is the Personal Accident Register, General. The information recorded includes:

- Name and address of the person
- Nature of injury and how caused
- Date of accident
- Where accident occurred
- Amount Claimed (mostly blank)
- Amount Paid (mostly blank)
- Location of file
The P2 consignment consists of the Freight Wagon Accident Register.
The P3 consignment contains the Level Crossings Accident Register. The information recorded included:
- Date Received
- Secretary's and Way and Works Branch Correspondence Registration Number
- Address
- Date of fire
- How caused (sparks from engine)
- Amount claimed and paid
- Date filed
The P4 consignment is the Record of Motor Accidents. The information recorded includes:
- Date Received
- Register No.
- Locality
- Drivers Name
- Owners Name
- Motor Car No.
- Amount involved, Amount paid by and paid to Department
- How file disposed of
The P5 consignment consists of the Fire Damage Claim Register. The information recorded included:
- Date Received
- Register No.
- Date of incident
- Place
- Time
The P6 consignment contains indexes to claim, action, arbitration and accident registrations of the WCAM branch. The full meaning of the WCAM abbreviation is not known. The WCAM unit was likely part of a Legal/Claims Branch as these records were found with other legal records.
