Animal taxa abundance data from Van Veen grab samples taken at 11 sites in 2002.Lineage

Statement: The data set is a list of animal taxa, and their abundances (calculated to abundance per square meter), found in a series of Van Veen Grab samples made at 11 sites within sand and rhodolith habitats.
In collecting the data, the grab samples were sieved using a 1mm mesh sieve, and the animals retained identified to the taxonomic level indicated in the dataset and enumerated.
The survey sites were located using non differential GPS. The boat attempted to position over the site and then deploy the grab sampler
The site coordinates were used to create an ArcView shapefile grab_sites.shp. Points in this shapefile can be hotlinked to corresponding ArcView tables showing the taxa and abundance data for that site.
