Data are mapped at 0.0025 degrees (~250 meters) spatial resolution and cover the entire extent of Queenslands Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. A large, independently collected set of weather data was used to spatially downscale AWAP daily weather layers of temperature maxima and minima to 0.0025 degree resolution as a function of key topographic and vegetation factors. These downscaled weather layers were then aggregated to form monthly average climate layers of temperature maxima and minima. Full description

A time-series of monthly average temperature maxima and minima maps from 1950 - Present. For complete details of the statistical downscaling and aggregation procedure see the associated research publication at http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/ddi.12068
