The Australian Science Archives Project began preparing the Guide in the late 1990s and this work was carried on by its successors, the Australian Science Archives Project and later the eScholarship Research Centre. The records were transferred to the State Library of Victoria (MS13596). The McLaren Family Guide to Records documents and contextualises the records of the McLaren Family, a family prominent in mathematics, medicine and education.
