VPRS 11796 General Correspondence Files, 'X' Series

Full description

This general correspondence series was created from 1960 when it was decided to assign departmental policy files into one record keeping system. Prior to this date it is likely that the files belonged to earlier general correspondence systems. Those systems would have included both registered and unregistered general correspondence.

This general correspondence series became known as the ' X ' series.

Some files from this series were top-numbered into the Land Policy Files series. This may be able to be found by consulting VPRS 14642 Numerical Index and File Movement Cards for Land Policy Administration (LPA) Files.
